BHOOMI POOJA ( GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY) FOR RADHA GOVIND TEMPLE |
When the plans for the Govindaji temple were completed in January 1997, Swamiji contacted Governor Mr.Romesh Bhandari and asked him to perform the "Bhoomi Pooja" (Ground breaking ceremony). He accepted with great honor, as this temple is a memorial to the famous Govindaji temple, and a great historical pride for Hindus. The Governor came on three different occasions to participate in the ceremonies. He has helped in every way possible, and encouraged others by stating, "What we do for God goes with us after death." Learned Pandits came from South India to chant the ceremonial mantras. The ceremony was supervised by the former Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr.Satyanarayana. Many other state ministers also participated in the functions. Politicians and people alike know that Swamiji is not politically motivated, and therefore respect and support him. |
