| The Srimad Bhagavatam is a narration of a conversation delivered to a great King of India, he had been cursed to die in seven days and decided to give up his kingdom and learn about the true goal of life. As he prepares for his impending death, the saint Śukadeva Gosvāmī approaches the king and agrees to teach him. Their conversation goes on uninterrupted for seven days, during which the king does not eat, drink or sleep. This took place around 3100 BC and the 7 day conversation comprises 18,000 verses spoken in Devanagri, or Sanskrit. The following work is based on seven lectures by Mahamandaleshwar Sri Krsna Balaram Swamiji and summarizes the knowledge imparted over those 7 days. This will take the sincere student, to new levels of awareness and self realization. This work addresses every level of humanity, regardless of religion or situation in life because each of us face the same situation as King Pariksit. |
