”The all-pervading Supreme Lord who is the benefactor of everyone is only One and Absolute, He is very subtle like the fragrance of butter and always remains hidden in the hearts of all living entities and those who become conscious of the Lord’s such transcendental qualities, they become free from the ties of miseries.”

PURPORT BY SRI KRSNA BALARAM SWAMIJI
Engaging in the Lord’s devotional service means becoming purified and starting to learn the Lord’s transcendental qualities in truth. When one is completely fixed in devotional service and does not waver in any circumstance they gradually realize the Lord’s transcendental qualities in truth. As stated in the Chandogya Upanisad: atha yad idam asmin brahma-pure daharam pundarikam vesma daharo ‘sminn antarakasas tasmin yad antas tad anvestavyam tad vava vijijinasitavyam iti, “The human heart is a residence for the Lord to reside. Inside the heart there is a subtle house shaped like a lotus, which has space for the Lord to reside. That Lord who is the secret of all secrets should be realized in human life.” If one adopts the spiritual path seriously then the Lord Himself helps the devotee by making them become immune to the miseries of life. Lord Krsna states in the Bhagavad Gita (2.51) that anyone who sincerely takes refuge in the Lord through performing devotional service to please Him they obtain Him and thereby become free from all the miseries of life.
