Swamiji's worshipable deities, Lord Sri Sri Radha Govindadeva,

residing in the sanctum sanctorum of the Red Stone Temple at Ramanreti in Sri Vrindavan Dham

When the Supreme Lord created this world, He Himself established the deity worship, by the help of which, people of this world could obtain His divine blessings. In some ways everyone desires success in life in their field, which can only happen through receiving divine blessings. The Vedic scriptures state that there are many ways to receive divine blessings. Deity worship is one out of many important ways. Deity worship is not idolatry because an idol is said to be the replica of a mortal entity, where as the replica of the immoral God is called deity. Those who know Vedic scriptures worship deities and not idols.

Five thousand years ago, Lord Krsna ruled Dwarika, India. On one occasion He asked Visvakarma, the architect of heaven, to carve a deity of His form which looked exactly like Him. Visvakarma carved Lord Krsna’s deity and handed it to Lord Krsna, which he worshiped daily in His palace. That very same deity of Lord Krsna was received by Madhvacharya in about 1197 A.D. and it was established and worshiped in Udupi, India, which is seen there even today. Deity worship is not based on anyone’s speculation. The process of deity worship has been coming down in an unbroken chain of disciplic succession since time immemorial for everyone to obtain divine blessings.

Honest worship of authentic deities rewards the knowledge about the eternal nature of the soul, why the soul has come to this world, where it has come from, and why one is a human being. It also lets the worshiper know about the difference between God and the living entity and helps one to understand the transcendental nature of the Supreme Lord. It also helps to awaken the soul by making it understand the description of the spiritual world, how to reach it, and much, much more. This is the result of worshiping the authorized deity form of the Supreme God, Lord Krsna.

His Divine Grace Mahāmaṇḍaleshwar Mahant Kṛṣṇa Balarām Swāmī Prabhupāda

“Just to please myself, I searched many ancient Vedic scriptures and I have included the most important rules which I thought necessary to worship Lord Radha Govindadevji in this Radha Govindarchana Dipika book. My motto in writing this book is that somehow Lord Krsna should be served favorably following the exact rules of the Vedic Scriptures even after my departure from this world. That is why I have explained the required rules for deity worship in this book. I, Krsna Balaram Swami, a natural resident of Vrindavan, although possessing no fine intelligence, had engaged in writing this book because I desire my worship able deities, Lord Sri Sri Radha Govindadeva, residing in the sanctum sanctorum of the Red Stone Temple at Ramanreti in Sri Vrindavan Dham, to be worshipped regularly through following the standard procedures of ancient Vedic Scriptures prescribed in my book “Rādhā Govindārchana Dīpikā, book on Deity Worship (2020)”
