”Those greatly advanced transcendentalists saw in their trance that very Supreme Lord who was satiated and enveloped with His inconceivable transcendental energies and found that He alone controls those causes (told in the previous verse) starting from time till the soul interacts and thus completely governs them.”

PURPORT BY SRI KRSNA BALARAM SWAMIJI
Things beyond our vision cannot be comprehended by speculation, pragmatic logic or material arguments. Transcendental knowledge fully depends on the mercy of the Lord. When after retracting the mind from material objects one contemplates on the Lord for His mercy only then does the Lord and His knowledge manifest to the person. In other words one has to follow the guidelines of the ancient scriptures regarding how to know and see the Lord then the Lord and His knowledge will manifest to the seeker. The sages in their meditation realized that the Lord who possesses unlimited energies can only be realized by those who situate themselves beyond the three modes of material nature – goodness, passion and ignorance.
The Supreme Lord is unlimited and therefore although He is unborn He takes birth. Although He is beyond three modes of material nature He acts as an ordinary person. Therefore the sages realized that unless one is fully purified through the practice of devotional service He cannot be understood properly. The sages in their trance came to realize that the Supreme Lord is Sri Krsna the sole controller of all the causes stated in the previous text (time, the natural inclination, habit, karma, sudden accidental result, five elements, and the soul) and through His power only they are able to react and that very Lord is the real cause of this creation.
